IET is one of the largest subdivisions of KSTU named after I. Razzakov, which trains personnel in the most advanced areas, including in the field of radio-electronic, information and telecommunication technologies. Training is conducted on the basis of the latest information technologies with the use of modern means of computing technologies. Students undergo practical training at the leading enterprises and companies of Kyrgyzstan and by the time of graduation many of them already have experience and a place of work.
The Institute provides training in the following programs: secondary, higher and postgraduate professional education; training, retraining and advanced training of specialists with secondary and higher education; training of bachelors and masters of science; courses on information technology training and other directions. It carries out fundamental and applied research. For more than 15 years the Institute has been training specialists for all telecommunication companies of the Kyrgyz Republic, such as: “Kyrgyztelecom”, “Beeline”, “Megacom” and others.
IET graduates work as managers of various levels of state and private telecommunication companies. Currently, more than 1000 students are studying at the Institute. At 1-2 courses they study at the general technical departments, and from the 3rd year on specialized areas are trained at two graduate departments:
“Information Systems and Technologies named after Acad. A. Zhainakov” (IST).
“Info-communication technologies” (ICT);
During their studies, students have the opportunity to engage in scientific research work, participate in conferences of university, national and international level. The students' leisure time is also interesting. Students have an opportunity to be engaged in sports sections, participate in various festivals and competitions.
The Institute has computer classes equipped with modern means of computing and network equipment, multimedia classes, as well as laboratories equipped with modern laboratory equipment, laboratory SOTSBI-U, equipped with means in the field of telecommunications.
