Network University of the Commonwealth of Independent States (NU CIS)
In 2008, in order to further develop humanitarian cooperation among the member states of the Commonwealth of Independent States, the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia, with the support of the Interstate Foundation for Humanitarian Cooperation of the CIS Member States (IFHC), initiated the project "Creation of the CIS Network University (2008 - 2011)" (NU CIS ).
The main goals of the CIS NU as a system of interuniversity cooperation:
- creation of a single (common) educational space for universities of the member states of the Commonwealth of Independent States through the implementation of joint educational programs, the organization of "included learning", new forms of interuniversity cooperation;
- creation of mechanisms for the development of academic mobility of students and teachers within the framework of the Commonwealth of Independent States;
- promotion of intercultural dialogue among students, preservation, development and mutual enrichment of culture, languages, historical and national traditions of the peoples of the member states of the Commonwealth of Independent States.
In 2009-2012, the Consortium included 27 leading universities from 9 member states of the Commonwealth of Independent States: the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Republic of Moldova, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Tajikistan and Ukraine.
The Consortium participants act on the basis of multilateral and bilateral interstate agreements of the CIS member states, the current national legislation of the state where the Participant is located, their charters and local regulations applied by the Participants in the process of educational, administrative and other activities, the Agreement on the Consortium to create the CIS Network University and Agreements on joint training of masters.
interaction between the partner universities of the CIS NU is provided by the Coordinating Council, which, among other things, considers the applications of universities for joining the Consortium. The head of this council is the rector of RUDN University V.M. Filippov.
Kyrgyz State Technical University named after I. Razzakova on May 2, 2017 submitted an application addressed to the Chairman of the Coordinating Council of the CIS NU to join the CIS Network University.
