Association of Asian Universities (AAU)

The Association of Asian Universities was established in May 2013 at its founding congress with the participation of delegations from 27 universities from 8 countries.

 

 The rector of the Altai State University Sergey Zemlyakov was elected the first president of the AAU. In September 2020, the Rector of the Kyrgyz National University named after Zhusup Balasagyn Kanat Zhalilovich Sadykov was elected President of the Association of Asian Universities.

 

What is the Association of Asian Universities?

 

The purpose of creating the Association is to form a single Asian educational space, activate integration processes in the field of higher education, promote academic mobility and expand cultural ties between universities in the Asian region, improve the quality of training specialists with university education, improve the efficiency of scientific research

 

The main tasks of the Association:

  • formation of a single Asian educational space, a single level of requirements for the content of university education, assistance in recognizing diplomas of universities - members of the Association;

  • enhancing the role of university education and science, turning universities - members of the Association into leading educational, scientific and public centers of Asian countries;

  • organization of international cooperation of universities - members of the Association in the field of educational, methodological and research activities;

  • development and implementation of joint educational programs;

  • exchange of experience in the field of higher professional education and scientific research;

  • organization and holding of international scientific and methodological conferences, seminars, research works, practices and internships;

  • assistance in resolving issues of vocational guidance, support for gifted youth.

Armenia - 1 participating university; Kazakhstan - 33 participating universities; China - 4 participating universities; Kyrgyzstan - 15 participating universities; Mongolia - 3 participating universities; Russia - 22 participating universities; Tajikistan -12 participating universities; Uzbekistan - 4 participating universities; Thailand - 1 participating university; Malaysia - 1 participating university; Afghanistan - 4 participating universities.
