History of Establishment and Development of the Educational Institution
Bishkek Technical College has a rich and consistent history closely connected with the development of industry and the vocational education system of the republic.
The educational institution was established in 1951 as the Bishkek Machine-Building Technical School on the basis of a Resolution of the Government of the USSR and Order No. 404 of the Minister of Armaments of the USSR dated June 18, 1951. The main purpose of its establishment was to train mid-level specialists for industrial enterprises of the sector and the republic.
After the collapse of the USSR, in accordance with Resolution No. 5831 of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan dated December 26, 1991, the Bishkek Machine-Building Technical School was transferred to the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Public Education of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan.
By Order of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic No. 36/1 dated February 5, 1996, the educational institution was renamed the Bishkek Technical Technical School.
By Resolution of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic No. 603 dated December 18, 1996, and the subsequent Order of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic No. 369/1 dated December 31, 1996, the technical school was transferred to the structure of the Kyrgyz Mining and Metallurgical Institute as a structural subdivision with separate financing, without the status of a legal entity.
In order to deepen the reform of the education system and improve the quality of training of mid-level specialists, Resolution of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic No. 390 dated May 31, 2006, recognized the previous Resolution of the Government (1996) on the transfer of the Bishkek Technical Technical School to the Kyrgyz Mining and Metallurgical Institute as invalid.
By Orders of the Ministry of Education and Science and the Ministry of Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic No. 580/1 dated September 12, 2006, No. 612/1 dated October 3, 2006, and No. 617/1 dated October 4, 2006, the legal status of the technical school was restored, the Charter of the Bishkek Technical Technical School was approved, and the separation act between the technical school and the mining institute was adopted.
By Order of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic No. 182/1 dated March 18, 2009, the Bishkek Technical Technical School was renamed Bishkek Technical College.
On April 27, 2009, the college received a Certificate of State Re-registration (registration number 56483-3301-U-e, OKPO code 00238977) from the Bishkek City Justice Department. The Charter was registered on May 7, 2009 (State Registration No. 0087655).
Today, the teaching staff of the college consists of 61 instructors, including 11 part-time lecturers. All instructors have higher education; three instructors hold the academic degree of Candidate of Sciences, and four are Honored Workers of Education, ensuring a high level of specialist training and sustainable development of the college.
