History of the Faculty

"Higher School of Magistracy"

The training of masters at the I. Razzakov KSTU has been carried out for more than 10 years, despite the large-scale training of engineers and certified specialists at that time. Master's degree programs were implemented mainly in the form of experimental training and undergraduates were the "piece product" of the efforts of individual heads of departments.
A great contribution to the development and formation of the master's degree program at KSTU was made by Zinaida Karpushevich, who for many years headed the Department of Postgraduate, Master's and Doctoral Studies (now head of the Department of Postgraduate and Doctoral Studies) – a highly qualified specialist, demanding and attentive leader.
The Bologna process has created a basis for increasing the mobility of students, undergraduates and teachers. The organization of internships for masters from near and far abroad has begun
During the existence of the Department of Postgraduate, Doctoral and Master's Studies, about 400 masters have been trained, who successfully work in research, educational institutions, ministries and departments, or continue their studies abroad.
Since 2013, there has been a tendency to increase the number of masters aimed at acquiring specialized knowledge and skills for practical application in the scientific and innovative activities of enterprises and institutions. By Order of the Rector No. 3/01 of January 1, 2017, the Master's Degree sector was created as part of the ADiM department in order to optimize the management structure, implement recruitment and maintain the contingent. The management of the sector was entrusted to Asanalieva Elmira Usengazievna. During this period, the transition to a credit-modular system of training took place, and the accreditation of educational programs in 13 areas of the master's program was successfully completed.
Currently, KSTU implements the main master's degree programs in 33 areas, including 55 master's programs, which are led by leading candidates and doctors of Science. The implementation of this model of higher education has shown its viability and relevance. It is necessary to note the positive achievements of the university departments in the training of personnel and interaction with various enterprises and organizations, and the further improvement of the system of multi-level education and improving the quality of training of undergraduates.
The increase in training areas and the number of undergraduates allowed the Department of Postgraduate, Doctoral and Master's Studies to change its status and from July 1, 2018, the department was reorganized into the Department of Postgraduate and Doctoral Studies (head Karpushevich Z. G.) and the Faculty of the Higher School of Master's Studies, which was headed by Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor Kadyrov Cholponbek Amanovich, who has extensive experience as dean of the Institute of Joint Educational Programs and the Faculty of Energy of KSTU named after I. Razzakov. In order to further improve the quality of training in the master's program, they plan to introduce a mixed education that combines traditional methods and distance learning. The training sessions will be conducted using innovative technologies and interactive methods. Well-planned and well-organized distance learning will improve the quality of undergraduates ' knowledge.
Studying in the master's program develops analytical competencies, prepares the foundation for a scientific or managerial career. With such qualifications, it is easier to get a prestigious job and take off from a higher starting position. The master's resume is much more likely to get to the director for consideration, and its owner is more likely to get an interesting and well-paid job.
