Department of Descriptive Geometry and Graphics


      The Chair of Descriptive Geometry and Graphics is the oldest department of the University, with its good traditions, well-established principles, rich pedagogical experience, efficient and friendly staff. The chair was founded in 1969 as the result of separation from the chair of "Graphics" of Faculty of Physical Education.


        Since 2005, the department began training specialists in "Vocational training by branches", who received a decent psycho-pedagogical and special education, which provided graduates with two professions at once: vocational and pedagogical. 
In 2018, the department merged with the Department of DPI and was renamed, to the Department of "Descriptive Geometry and Graphics".


         The department teaches the academic disciplines: "Descriptive geometry", "Descriptive geometry and engineering graphics", "Engineering and computer graphics", "Computer design in architecture", "Information technologies in construction", "Engineering graphics", "Computer technologies in construction", "Computer graphics", "Drawing and painting", "Painting, Sculpture", "Plastic anatomy".  The disciplines of the department are taught to students of all technical specialties. 
          The main basic discipline of the department is "Descriptive Geometry and Engineering Graphics", which consists respectively of two sections: "Descriptive Geometry" and "Engineering Graphics", as well as ", "Drawing and Painting", consisting of two sections: "Drawing " and " Painting",


       The aim of the subjects "Descriptive geometry" and "Drawing and painting" is to enable students to acquire knowledge in order to develop their spatial perception and imagination, their constructive-geometric thinking, their ability to analyze and synthesize spatial forms and their relations on the basis of graphic models of space, which in practice take the form of specific drawings of spatial objects.
At present the chair is staffed with 14 didactic staff members, from which 2 professors, 3 candidates of science, 8 senior lecturers, 1 teacher, and also 1 head of laboratory and 1 methodologist.


       The chair conducts a great amount of didactic and methodical work. The teachers of department are developed, published and republished more than 100 names of methodical developments, the textbook in a state language "Syzma geometry", "The Russian-Kyrgyz terminological dictionary", methodical instructions to pedagogical practice, the journal of pedagogical practice which are used in educational process, at independent works. Automatic control of students' knowledge on the topics of descriptive geometry has been developed and introduced in the educational process. All of them provide an individualization of the educational process.
All the subjects taught at the chair are supplied with necessary didactic and methodic literature according to the specialty. Every year the department publishes methodical guidelines in accordance with the perspective plan.
