Agreement between the Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany and the President of the Kyrgyz Republic on the opening of the joint faculty was signed in 2001.

KYRGYZ- GERMAN TECHNICAL INSTITUTE (KGTI)

On May 27, 2004, on the eve of the 50 anniversary of the University, a presenta- tion of the new faculty was conducted. The founders of the Institute are KSTU and Berlin Technical University of Applied Sciences named after Boytha. There are three departments:

  • Telematics;
  • Logistics
  • Mechanical and Industrial Engineering.

 

KYRGYZ- GERMAN TECHNICAL INSTITUTE (KGTI)

Classes are conducted in German and Russian. Professors from German Universities conduct lectures in German and Russian. Every year more than thirty students have summer schools at the universities and industrial companies in Germany. KGTI lecturers also have oppor- tunity to upgrade their qualification at German universities.

KYRGYZ- GERMAN TECHNICAL INSTITUTE (KGTI)

German partners via DAAD take part in the financing. They also give grants to purchase machinery and equipment for the laboratories of the following depart- ments \»Renewable energy sources\» and \»Technology of machine building\». Nowadays, about 500 students study at the institute. Specialties \»Logistics\» (opened in 2011) and \»Telematics\» (opened in 2011) have been established in order to implement the agreement on cooperation between KSTU and technical Universities of Wildau, Cologne, Brandenburg.

Specialties implemented in KGTI are modern and rapidly developing sciences. In the future institute will be a center of education, science and practice for the whole Kyrgyzstan.
