Samsung and KSTU join forces: start of the IT Academy for innovative education!

On January 10, 2024, the official opening of the Samsung IT Academy took place at KSTU named after I. Razzakov.

As part of the new training program, university students in a specially equipped laboratory can gain knowledge and practical skills in one of the most promising areas of information technology using special teaching materials developed by Samsung experts.

It should be noted that the Samsung IT Academy is a social and educational program within the framework of the global Samsung Innovation Campus initiative aimed at training young

specialists in the most popular areas of the IT industry in universities.

In particular, studying at the IT Academy will allow you to gain knowledge in the educational tracks “Mobile Development”, “Artificial Intelligence” and “Internet of Things”, and also provides students with the opportunity to receive a certificate of a global technology leader.

Of particular interest is the “Mobile Development” track, which will be the first starting educational track for students of KSTU. I. Razzakova. Upon completion of training, each student develops his own project and gets the opportunity to participate in an interuniversity project competition, which is an unconditional motivating factor.

The main objectives of the course of study are:

● studying the basics of the modern industrial programming language Java;

● mastering the skills of developing applications for the Android platform;

● familiarization with modern approaches and techniques for developing mobile applications.

The target audience is undergraduate students of KSTU named after I. Razzakov. To successfully complete the educational track “Mobile Development,” a potential student of the track must have knowledge of computer science and strong programming skills in any language of the structural paradigm.

Moreover, each workstation in the training laboratory is equipped with a Samsung tablet for testing developed mobile applications and a personal computer that meets current technical requirements. The laboratory is also equipped with a Samsung interactive panel.

The opening ceremony of this event was attended by the rector of KSTU Chynybaev M.K., Deputy Minister of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic R. Abazbek uulu, as well as Pevnev S.V. - Vice President for Corporate Projects and Interaction with Government Authorities from the Headquarters of Samsung Electronics CIS, Yun S.G. - Head of the Department of Technology Marketing and Educational Projects and Limasov A.M. - curator of the IT Academy programs for mobile development “Samsung Innovation Campus” from the Samsung Research Center, Kabaeva G.J. - Director of the Institute of Information Technologies, as well as representatives of the Ministry of Digital Development of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Kyrgyzstan, Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) in Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan Offices, the International Department and heads of departments of IIT KSTU
