On May 4, 2023, in the conference hall of the KSTU named after I. Razzakov, for students, graduate students and young scientists of the university, a lecture was held on the topic "Development of solar energy in Turkmenistan" in the "online" mode, which was delivered by Professor of the Turkmen State Institute of Architecture and Civil Engineering Penjiev A. M.

This event was organized within the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding between the two higher educational institutions of the fraternal countries.

It should be noted that solar energy is the fastest growing type of renewable energy sources in Turkmenistan. The thing is that the climatic and geographical conditions of this country allow the widespread use of renewable energy sources. In particular, solar electricity has been obtained there for a long time and is actively used in industry using photovoltaic converters. Excellent developments are also known in thermal power engineering, where solar collectors are widely used. The use of wind energy, geothermal waters, biofuels is practiced, which helps to improve the energy supply of the rural population and territories remote from the central heating system.

At the end of the lecture, the audience was able to ask all their questions. In turn, our professor of the department "RES" Obozov A.D. emphasized that the relevance of solar energy is constantly growing, because it is environmentally friendly. Another reason for the relevance of RES is its resource intensity.

Director of the Energy Institute Associate Professor Tentiev R.B. noted that this event was held with the aim of developing cooperation in the field of education and scientific research, as well as exchanging work experience and information
