May 15, 2021 at KSTU. I. Razzakov hosted the interuniversity Health Festival "Polytech Without Tobacco", organized as part of World No Tobacco Day.
The purpose of this action was to draw public attention to the problem of the harm caused by addiction to tobacco, as well as to acquaint young people with statistical figures. In addition, students will be taught the rules for effectively resisting and rejecting this psychoactive substance and promoting an active healthy lifestyle.
According to the plans of the organizers - the Department for Social, Educational and Extracurricular Activities and the Committee for Youth Affairs - immediately after the flash mob, sports competitions were held, including tug of war, jumping rope and a fun relay race for students, as well as a mini-football tournament for teachers in category "40+".
The Health Festival was attended by representatives of the World Health Organization (WHO), the State Agency for Youth Affairs, Physical Culture and Sports under the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic, the City Student Polyclinic and students of BSU. The event was opened by Rector Chynybaev M.K., Head of the WHO Country Office in Kyrgyzstan Artykova N.P., who urged students to completely give up tobacco, go in for sports and give all their strength to gaining knowledge.
According to the results of the competitions, prizes were distributed as follows:
1st place was taken by KSTU. I. Razzakov;
2nd place - KEU them. M. Ryskulbekova;
3rd place - BSU named after K. Karasaeva.
4th place - MUK
And in football competitions among teachers, the best were:
1st place - BSU named after K. Karasaeva;
2nd place - MUK;
3rd place - KSTU im. I. Razzakova.

It should be noted that tobacco smoking is currently the cause of death of 10% of the adult population in the world. In other words, the global tobacco epidemic claims about 6 million lives each year, more than 600,000 of them being passive smokers who die as a result of inhaling second-hand smoke. Therefore, every year on May 31, since 1987, by decision of WHO, World No Tobacco Day is organized. The slogan of the current event is “No smoking territory”.
At one time, the world community was tasked with achieving that in the 21st century the problem of smoking would disappear forever. However, reality shows that nothing is changing, and although everyone knows that smoking is harmful, nevertheless, a huge number of people continue to smoke (and this is more than half of the male and about a quarter of the female population of the planet!).
The organizers are determined to demonstrate the conditions for the formation of a new standard for a young Kyrgyzstani without bad habits, which will be one of the results of the implementation of the Decree of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic S.N. Zhaparov "On the spiritual and moral development and physical education of the individual."
