The faculty was formed in 1999 on the base of the Faculty of Automatic production control. (FAUP).

The Faculty of Informational Technologies

There are six departments at the faculty of Informational Technologies (FIT).

  • Automatic Control;
  • Informatics and Hard ware;
  • Software of computer systems;
  • Applied Mathematics;
  • Applied Physics;
  • Physical education.

The faculty trains highly qualified specialists on computer technologies, software engineering and automation. They are demanded not only in Kyrgyzstan, but also in foreign countries as: Russia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Tajikistan, India, Algeria, Colombia, Somalia, Morocco, Sri Lanka, Cuba, etc. Graduates work at the enterprises, automation and informatization depart- ments of state and private structures, ban- ks and other financial institutions. Students Research works, course papers and diplo- ma projects are implemented at these en- terprises. Classes are held in ten training laborato- ries and fourteen computer classes where the most modern equipment is used: server stations, communicational nets, systems of reserve copy and failure protection. There is a research lab “Holography”. Science labs on the atomic and nuclear physics, solid state physics, and optics are functioning.

Since 2010 workers of the faculty have been participating in TEMPUS projects: HEICA (Higher Education Initiative for Informatics in Central Asia). The objective of the Project is to develop and imple- ment modern syllabuses and three broaden modules (Software Engine- ering; Information Security) for Bachelor and Master programs. There are experimental groups of students studying in English. In 2013 European accreditation of these syllabuses is expected. There is a Master Program \”Informatics and soft ware engineering technology”. The above mentioned program is elabo- rated together with European, Russian and Kazakh universities, and was suppor- ted by the European Union There are ex-perimental groups of students studying in English.
